We are on week 3 of potty training and it still isn't getting a lot better-you have to ask Bayley still if she needs to go. She will sit on the potty a lot of times and just cry. She is somewhat of a difficult child at times because I have no idea why her moods change so quickly, except that she is a GIRL.

Brennen is our little engineer. The other day he took a small child's coat hanger and a child's double coat hanger (for pants and shirt) and made a bow and arrow-and it looked exactly like a bow and arrow. He loves to tie strings from things to make traps and concocts of several step traps (I guess he got that from watching Scooby Doo). He'll tell me stuff like if Bayley steps on the paint stirrer and then slips on the skateboard and falls past the string...I will catch her.

Friday night we went to eat at KFC/Long John's with Michelle and Brady and Dad. Bayley pretty much cried the whole time, but she would stop for a minute and say, "I not cry anymore" and then two minutes later be back at it. During one of her few non crying moments, she looked up and saw a lady getting a drink. She had silvery-gray hair and her back was turned. It was a short hair cut and she said, "She looks like E do". Michelle and I turned around and saw what she was talking about and bust out laughing. We told Dad, who was sitting at another table with John and Brennen, and he didn't think it was too funny.

Yesterday when we were going to church (we were riding in John's car), Brennen was in the back tying a string on the box of soda that John had in between the two car seats and he was singing a little song that went like this...'SH*T, SH*T, SH*T'. John and I looked at each other and kind of laughed and I said, Brennen, what are you singing and he repeated his song. I told him not to say that word, it was a bad word. I am just waiting for it to pop up again!!!!!

At church yesterday, there were several young children and young families on our prayer list because of illness. We never know why bad things happen to good people or understand God's plan, but I know HE has a plan in everything. I am VERY thankful for my children and although they often 'get on my nerves', I love them and am grateful to God that they are healthy. My daily prayer for them is that they live a long, healthy, happy, Christ-filled life.

A New Blog

I am starting a new blog today to keep track of some of the day to day childhood memories of my kids. Today is Wednesday, February 18, 2009. Brennen is four (almost 5) and Bayley just turned 2 (and thinks she is 16).

We are potty training Bayley right now because as soon as she 'poops' she pulls her pants down to get the diaper off and makes a mess. Two Sundays ago, she did this twice before church and she was already dressed. She had to have two baths that morning and after the second one, I told her no more, from that moment on, we were potty training.

It has been a tough battle because she wants to cry everytime she sits on the toilet and has started this new thing saying "I'm too little". I compare it to breaking in a wild horse!!!
